Beulah Vivian Rise, 85, Topeka, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004. Mrs. Rise was born Dec. 12, 1919 in Fostoria, KS. the daughter of Edward S. and Blossom May (Hawkes) DeGraff. Mrs. Rise was preceded in death by a sister, Bona May, and two brothers, Kenneth E. and Ivan L. Mrs. Rise married Anton Peter Rise on April 23, 1941 at Manhattan, KS. He also preceded her in death. Mrs. Rise graduated from Fostoria High School and attended Emporia State University. She had been a resident of Topeka since 1950. Beulah was a member of the Rebekah Lodge #657 at Ozawkie. She is survived by a niece, Donna DeGraff Cramer, Providence, R.I. and a sister-in-law, Melba DeGraff, also of Providence, R.I. As well as many close friends. A funeral service will be at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka. Mrs. Rise will lie in state from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Interment will be in Westmoreland City Cemetery in Westmoreland, KS.
