Betty J. Miller, 76, of Topeka, passed away, Thursday, October 6, 2005 at Midland Hospice House. She was born July 18, 1929 in St. Joseph, MO, the daughter of Jesse and Edith Carder Woodward.
Betty lived in Arizona as a child and Topeka most of her life. She was a member of Northland Christian Church. She owned and operated B & B Accounting and Tax Service for 35 years.
Betty had a golden heart and would do whatever she could to help others in need. She enjoyed spending time at Lake Wabaunsee and enjoyed the Flint Hills. One of her favorite pasttimes was spending time with her grandchildren. She was also very artistic and enjoyed craft making. Betty was known for her sense of humor and was always willing to share a joke.
She married Jake Gieber in 1947, they later divorced. She married Ed Burdiek in 1958, they divorced. She married Del Miller in 1974. He preceded her in death in1993.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jesse R. Woodward.
Survivors include two daughters, Lana Dillon and her husband Dan, Pearl River, LA and Debbie Edwards and her husband Gene, Topeka; a son, Joseph R. Burdiek and his wife Barbara, Topeka; a brother, Richard Woodward and his wife Twila, Eskridge; sister-in-law, Pat Woodward, Topeka; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Cremation will take place after services.
Mrs. Miller will lie in state from 3:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka.
