Betty Marie Adams, 79, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at her home.
She was born January 22, 1929 in Lone Star, Kansas, the daughter of Edward and Minnie Clevenger McArdle.
She was employed by Suttons and J.M. Bauersfeld's Grocery Stores in Topeka. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Mayetta.
Betty married Richard D. Adams. He preceded her in death on December 16, 2000. Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Henderson, Florida, Ann Adams, Topeka, and Marie Adams, Florida; her siblings, Ruby Mc Ardle, Alice Murphy, Harold McArdle, and Robert McArdle; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren, Kathy and Zach Bullard.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the Mayetta Cemetery, Mayetta, KS. Mrs. Adams will lie in state after 3 p.m., Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church of Mayetta.
