OBITUARY: Betty Lou Elliott

Betty Lou Elliott, 66, Topeka, died Thurs., Oct. 19, 2006, at Midland Hospice House. She was born Dec. 2, 1939, at Kansas City, KS, the daughter of John Maxwell and Mary Ellen (Stokesbury) Butrick. She was reared at Kansas City by her father and step-mother, Mary Ann Butrick, and attended school there.

She had lived at Topeka, Manhattan, Wichita, and Salina before returning to Topeka in 1975. She had worked at Fidelity Bank and Sheltered Living.

Betty was married to Stuart A. Elliott on June 29, 1957, at Kansas City. They were later divorced.

Surviving are a daughter: Claudia L.Chatham of Topeka; 2 sons: Bruce E. Elliott of Blue Springs, MO, and Brian A. Elliott of St. Louis, MO; a sister: Anna Belle Wiles of Kansas City, KS; a brother: John R. Butrick of Allantown, PA; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sat., Oct. 21, 2006, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence, Topeka. Cremation will follow. Betty will lie in state after 4:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
