Betty Lou Irene Dennison
Betty Lou Irene Dennison, 88, of Topeka, died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Topeka Presbyterian Manor and was attended by Midland Hospice Care. She was born August 1, 1924, in Topeka, the daughter of Culbertson D. and Freda M. (Thomas) Wray.
She and her husband were volunteer gospel singers in area nursing and retirement homes. She was a member of Lakeview Church of the Nazarene.
Betty Lou was married to Norris Eugene Dennison on June 14, 1942, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1991.
Surviving are her children: Marvin (Linda) of Tecumseh, Robert (Renea) of Topeka, David (Gloria) of Topeka, James (Lori) of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Mary Jackson of Patoka, Illinois; brothers: James Wray (Donna) of Vanceboro, North Carolina, and Charles Wray (Mildred) of Topeka; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, July 29, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Interment in West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Betty Lou will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Sunday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
