OBITUARY: Mrs. Betty Lou Baker
Mrs. Betty Lou (Davis) Baker, 72, Topeka, passed away Sat., April 15, 2006, at her home. She was born April 25, 1933, in Lawrence, KS to Roy Edward and Maxine Agnes (Cobb) Davis.
She was graduated from Liberty Memorial High School, Lawrence and attended the University of Kansas. She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church and Midwest Couples Fishing Assoc.
On Dec. 31, 1954, Betty Lou married Gilbert Baker, Sr. in Lawrence. They moved to Topeka in 1966. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Joan Heckel, and husband, Mark, of Topeka; a son Gilbert, Jr. and wife, Candy, of Hoyt; a son, Michael, and wife, Bobbi, of Papillion, NE; a sister: Vicki Leochner of Lecompton; a step-brother: James Jackson of Oklahoma City, OK; 16 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tues., April 18, 2006, at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery. Betty Lou will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Monday, at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 S.E. Minnesota, Topeka where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Monday.
