Betty Bryan

Betty J. Bryan 83, Wamego formerly of Topeka, died Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Gran Villas Assisted Living in Wamego. She was born June 22, 1922 in Whiting, Iowa the daughter of Glen and Alice Tuttle Sisson.

Betty served in the Army during World War II. She worked as Clerk for the State of Kansas for several years until retirement. She worked several seasons at Jostens. Betty volunteered her time at East Indianola Elementary School during her grandchildren's school years.

She married Gordon Russell "Ham" Bryan Feb. 16, 1946 at Topeka, Kansas. He died May 28, 1992.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eunice and Donna Belle and a brother, Gary.

Survivors include a daughter, Stephani Roeder and her husband Darrel, Wamego, KS; a sister, Darlene Smith, and her husband Warren, Hurricane, Utah; three grandchildren, Heather and her husband Craig Weingartner, Topeka, KS; Bryan and his wife Marcy Merritt, Alma, KS; David Lytle, Lawrence, KS; four great-grandchildren Kyler, Kourtney, Keegan and Tyler.

Cremation is planned. Private inurnment will be in Wamego Cemetery.
