Betty Ann Remfry
Betty Ann Remfry, 79, Topeka, died Sun., March 6, 2011, at Midland Hospice House.
She was born Jan. 6, 1932, in Topeka, the daughter of Alvin B. and Frances L. (Richards) Flowers. Betty graduated from Topeka High School. She was a cosmetologist and was retired from the State of Kansas. She was married to Kenneth Remfry, and they later divorced.
Surviving are 4 sons: Kenneth Remfry, Jr. of Iraq, Aaron (Pauline) Remfry, Sr. of Topeka, Kevin Remfry of Topeka; and Scott (Teresa) Remfry of Tecumseh; a daughter: Lisa (Rich) Hoffman of Tecumseh; 2 brothers: Robert (Naomi) Flowers of Oskaloosa and Jim Flowers of St. Peters, Mo; 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and best friend: Judy Allen. She was preceded in death by 2 great-grandchildren, and a brother: Charles A. "Buddy" Flowers.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Thurs., March 10, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave. Interment in Rochester Cemetery. Betty will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wed., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606-2800.
