Betty A. Clifton, 69, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009.
She was born April 23, 1940 in Silver Lake, KS, the daughter of Lester Martin and Erma Irene (Redenbaugh) Jenks.
She was employed by Walgreens Drug Store as Head Cosmetician, retiring after 17 years of service.
Betty married Dale S. Clifton on October 21, 1966 in K.C., MO. He survives. Other survivors include her children, Cynthia Denney, Olathe, Roy Norton, Norwalk,OH, Pamela Miller, Loretta Rogers, Tammy Fleming, all of Topeka; her siblings, Hazel Malone, Lois Holmes, Sue Jenks, and Dan Jenks, all of Topeka, Judy Murphy, Bonita Springs, FL, Helen Gehrke, CA, and Bill Jenks, Boonsville, MO; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Floyd, James and Leroy Jenks, four sisters, Lorene Alverson, Mary Burch, Lela and Mona Lou Jenks, and a granddaughter, Angel Fleming.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka. Mrs. Clifton will lie in state after 3 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.
