OBITUARY: Bettie Eunice Coon
On Oct. 27, 2005 the Lord gently wrapped his arms around our Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend and freed her from her pain and took her home to rest. Bettie Eunice Roberts Coon born Sept. 15, 1937 in Perry, KS to Wilbert & Sophia Bryant Roberts.
She attended Newman Schools and Graduated from Perry High School. Bettie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles William Coon. They were married on Oct. 9, 1955 in Topeka, KS. Bettie coached youth Basketball, Baseball and Bowling. She was a Boy Scout Den Mother. An avid Bowler, Bettie was one of the Top 10 Women Bowlers in Topeka for several years.
Bettie and Charles had 4 Children, 3 Sons and 1 Daughter. All Surviving. Larry Dee Coon and his wife Leota, Grantville, Garry Lee Coon, Topeka, Patricia Ann Wiltz and her husband Marlin, Silver Lake, James Dean Coon and his wife Sharron, Plano, TX. She is survived by 10 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren, A brother Wilbert "Bud" Roberts and his wife Lela, Perry, 3 sisters Mary Quigley and her husband Robert, Perry, Bonnie Greene and her husband Virgil, McMinniville, TN, JunaDale Rodecap, Berryton, and many Nieces and Nephews. Mrs. Coon is preceded in death by her sister Mildred Penry.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Mon., Oct. 31, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence, Topeka, KS. Interment will be in Topeka Cemetery. Mrs. Coon will lie in state after 12:00 noon Sunday at the funeral chapel where the family will visit with family and friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Sunday.
