Beryl Beatrice Jessop
Beryl Beatrice Jessop, 92, Topeka died Thursday, Jan 8, 2004, at Plaza West Regional Health Center with her family by her side. She was born March 14, 1911, in Richland, the daughter of George Everett and Hazel Howard Disney. She married Wayne Jessop on Aug. 4, 1931. He preceded her in death, along with an infant daughter, Bonita Jessop, and a son, Harold Jessop. She worked for Woolworth's from 1931 through 1936 as a fountain manager. She was a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church since 1937, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and a deacon. She was a charter member of the TTS Club for over 50 years. She was a wonderful and devoted mother and grandmother. Survivors include: a brother, Howard and wife, Jaci Disney, San Leandro, Calif.: Harold's wife, Janet Jessop, Silver Lake, and their children, Kimberly and Thomas VanHoutan, and Matthew and Brenda Jessop; a son, Kenneth G. and wife, Barbara Jessop, Topeka, and their ch ildren, Scott and Beth Jessop, Kenneth W. Jessop and Danielle and Michael Sullivan; a daughter, Janet and husband, Harry Carr Jr., Topeka and their children, Stacey and Todd Hottman, Shelley and Tony Buckley and Shawna and Gary Allen. Also great-grandchildren, Chad and Crystal VanHoutan, Andy and Mary VanHoutan; Ashlee, Brandon, Chase and Drew Hottman; Niran, Hailey and Tanner Buckley; Mitchell and Jaxon Sullivan; Zachary Jessop ; Channing, Zerah, Britain and Destrie Allen. great-great- grandchildren: Dylan Scott, Bridget and Briana VanHoutan, and Dalton and Dakota VanHoutan. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
