OBITUARY: Bertha Louise Weaver
Bertha Louise Weaver, 73, Topeka, died Thurs., Feb. 28, 2008, at Midland Hospice House. She was born Aug. 5, 1934, at Carbondale, the daughter of Cassius A. and Grace I. (Neely) Barngrover.
Bertha was a supervisor at Let's Help Clothing Bank. She was a member of the Jefferson Square NIA.
Bertha was married to Freddie D. Weaver on June 23, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley J. Spradling, on July 22, 1985.
Surviving are a daughter: Donna J. Emperley of Topeka; 3 sons: Fred D. Weaver of Topeka, Raymond W. Weaver of Cleveland, OH, and Gerald L. Weaver of Topeka; 2 brothers: Clyde Barngrover of Grantville, and Cash Barngrover of Topeka; a sister: Jeannie Gay of Topeka; and many grandsons.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Tues., March 4, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Interment in Westlawn Memorial Gardens. Bertha will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Mon., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Let's Help, 200 South Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS 66603, or Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606-2800.
