Berdine Marie (Wagner) Schultz McConnell, 91, Topeka, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at a local hospital.
Berdine was born December 28, 1925 in Hoskins, NE, the daughter of George and Marie (Ellenberger) Wagner. She graduated from Hoskins High School in Hoskins, NE.
She was a homemaker and worked in Food Service for Topeka Public Schools, Washburn Rural School District, and Pauline South School District.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Berdine enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking traditional recipes that she learned from her mother, including cookies, hot buns, noodles and maldasha. Gardening and reading her bible also filled her days.
Berdine married John McConnell on April 2, 1971. He died March 10, 2016. Survivors include sons, Gary (Robin) Schultz, Riverton, KS, Bill (Mary Kay) Schultz, Berryton, KS; daughters, Mary (Jim) Livergood, Knob Noster, MO, Sue McWilliams, Topeka; brother, Glenn (Pat) Wagner, Tilden, NE; and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 SW Gage. Inurnment will follow at Rochester Cemetery.
