OBITUARY: Barbara Jane Ward
Barbara Jane Ward, 67, Topeka, KS, died Wed., Dec. 15, 2010, at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was born April 27, 1943, at Cumberland, MD, the daughter of Oscar D. and E. Jane (Martin) Peer. Barbara spent most of her life in Topeka. She was a member of Unity Church of Christianity. For many years she was a Tupperware manager, and for the past several years was a realtor. Surviving are 2 sons: R. Kevin Callahan (Cindy) and R. Keith Callahan all of Topeka; her father: Oscar D. Peer of Springfield, WV; 2 brothers: Glen and Wayne Peer both of Ft. Ashby, WV; a sister: Darlene Krantz of Ft. Ashby, WV; and 2 grandsons: Josh and Jake Callahan both of Topeka, KS. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Sat., Dec. 18, 2010, at Unity Church of Christianity, 9126 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS. Interment will be in the Peer Family Cemetery at Springfield, WV. Barbara will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Fri., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, KS, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
