Barbara D. Hinchsliff, 88, Berryton, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020.
She was born April 21, 1931, in Dodge City, Kansas, the daughter of Lawrence and Blanche (Fleming) Eyth. Barbara graduated from Topeka High School, the class of 1951. She later attended Washburn University and Kansas State University where she received a Masters in counseling.
Barbara was a homemaker and a teacher for Holiday Junior High and Topeka High School.
She was a member of the Oakland Presbyterian Church, served as President for Beta Sigma Phi, and was a democrat committee woman serving on the Oakland and Berryton election board.
Barbara's favorite hobby was oil painting and gushing over her grandchildren.
Barbara will be remembered for being the best wife, mother and friend that anyone could ask for.
On February 14, 1953 she married Robert Gene Hinchsliff at Topeka Euclid Methodist Church. He survives. Other survivors include children, Thomas and Lori Hinchsliff, Fairbanks, AK; Donald and Stacie Hinchsliff, Olathe, KS; Sharron and James Coon, VanAlstyne, TX; Ben Hinchsliff; brother, Duane Eldon Eyth; seven grandchildren, Marci Burns, Andrew Hinchsliff, Jake Hinchsliff, Rayna Hinchsliff, Niki Gillespie, Amanda George, Austin Coon; and five great-grandchildren, Charleigh Coon, Skyler Farrar, Peri Farrar, Kinsley Farrar, and Laynie Farrar.
She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Milly Hinchsliff, and grandson, Robert Aaron Thomas Hinchsliff.
Funeral services will be at 6:00pm, on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Parker-Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. Visitation will be the hour prior to the service at 5:00pm. Following the funeral service, the family invites guests to attend a reception at the Oakland Presbyterian Church, 2810 NE Thomas Ave., Topeka.
