OBITUARY: Audrey Eileen Scheidegger
Audrey Eileen Baldwin was born at 412 West Bolder, Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the home of Mrs. Julia Stewart. Dr. Moses, Mrs. Julia Stewart, Elmer E. Baldwin and Agnes Baldwin his wife were present at the child's birth which was Monday at 9 o'clock, March 24, 1924. Her parents at that time resided at (Black Forest) Colorado Springs, Colorado. She passed away Fri., Aug. 1, 2008, at Plaza West, Topeka, at the age of 84.
She was married to Kenneth "Dean" Scheidegger on Nov. 23, 1939, at Hiawatha. He preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 2007. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Richard Linder, Jr.; 2 sisters; and a brother.
Audrey graduated from the Topeka Public School of Practical Nursing on Jan. 27, 1961, and worked at St. Francis Hospital for 25 years, mostly in Labor and Delivery. She was baptized Methodist, but was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Topeka until it closed June 4, 2006, where she served as a Deacon.
Surviving are 5 daughters: Pamela Finch of Pomona, KS, Joyce Kirkner of King, NC, Nancy Bass of Diamond, MO, Patricia Linder of Topeka, and Deanna Fiegener of Topeka; and 1 son, William Dean Scheidegger of the home. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 sisters: Donna Fulton of Topeka and JoAnn Dugan of Delia, KS.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Tues., Aug. 5, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Interment in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Audrey will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Mon., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.
