OBITUARY: Arthur O. "Tex" Price
Arthur O. "Tex" Price, 91, Silver Lake, KS, passed away Saturday morning, Oct. 27, 2007 at Midland Hospice House.
Arthur was born Nov. 21, 1915, in Bertram, TX, to Arthur and Mattie Price. He worked at Goodyear for over 30 years and was a member of Local 307 Union, serving as secretary for several years and as an officer of the Rubber Workers' Credit Union. He was also a member of the North Topeka Baptist Church for over 50 years and was involved in many other organizations.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor. They were married 66 years. He is also survived by two daughters: Linda Verge (Don) and Judy Wade (Tom, Jr.) of Silver Lake; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister: Hazel Fritsch, San Antonio, TX; two brothers: Morris Price (Jeannette), Florence, TX and Glen Price (Janie), Bertram,TX; and many nieces and nephews. Tex was preceded in death by his brother, Carlos Price (Ida Mae), Belton,TX, and his parents.
Tex will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Wed., Oct. 31, 2007, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Interment in Silver Lake Cemetery. Tex will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tuesday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Topeka Baptist Church, 123 NW Gordon, Topeka, KS 66608-1314 or charity of your choice.
