Arthur D. Griffith, 86, of Silver Lake, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011.
He was born September 18, 1925, the son of Arthur R. & Florance A. (Milbrant) Griffith, they precede him in death. Arthur was employed by Union Local 142. Mr. Griffith was a member of the Silver Lake Baptist Church. Arthur married Maurine Reedy on July 21, 1951, she preceded him in death in 2002.
Survivors include three children, David (Carolyn) Griffith, Marvin (Elaine) Griffith, and Dorothy (Bob) Arnold; twelve grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; four siblings, Voyd Griffith, Thelma Tichenor, Agnes Thomas, and Marie Fidler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maurine; a brother Marion Griffith; a sister Ethel Snickles.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 2, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. Mr. Griffith will lie in state after 1:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holton Community Hospital Hospice, 1110 Columbine Dr., Holton, KS 66346.
