Arthur Dahlstrom

Arthur C. "Artie" Dahlstrom, 50, Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2007 at Midland Hospice House.

Artie was born November 18, 1956 in Topeka, the son of George H. and Martha J. (Dister) Dahlstrom. He graduated from Seaman High School in 1975 and from Washburn University in 1979. He lettered in football all four years at Washburn and continuied to support the football program at the university.

He was president of Dahlstrom Concrete Construction Inc. for the past 17 years.

He coached his daughters in Optimist Basketball and Softball for many years. His hobbies were boating in the summer at Lake Perry and following the Kansas City Chiefs football.

He married Lynne Hiebsch on June 11, 1977 in Topeka. They later divorced. Survivors include their daughters, Amy Reser, Littleton, CO., Angie Waymire, Topeka; two grandchildren; brothers, Hugo Dahlstrom, McPherson, Dane Dahlstrom, Kansas City; sisters, Lyn Klein, and Gena Brooks, both of Topeka; and his father, George Dahlstrom, Roeland Park. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June14, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Washburn Endowment Association, Football Scholarship, 1700 SW College, Topeka, Kansas 66621.
