OBITUARY: Anna "Rose" Knight Baber
Mrs. Anna "Rose" Baber, 73, Hartford, formerly of Topeka, died Thurs., Oct. 25, 2007, at Coffey County Hospital. She was born June 12, 1934, at Quenemo, the daughter of M. Milan and Letha M. (Rose) Knight.
Rose graduated from Quenemo High School. She was a certified medication aide retiring from Brighton Place.
She was married to Roy L. Baber on Dec. 12, 1959, at Lawrence. He preceded Rose in death on Dec. 16, 1988.
Surviving are 2 daughters: Rena Williams of Hartford, and Lea Stovall of Hastings, NE; 4 sons: Darrin Baber of Topeka, Mark Baber of Hartford, Steve Baber of Topeka, and Stan Baber of Topeka; 4 sisters: Joyce Long of Lawrence, Kaye Counts of Victorsville, CA, Cheryl Weiss of Fort Worth, TX, and Debra Watts of Quenemo; 3 brothers: M. Harvey Knight of Topeka, Ronald Knight of Quenemo, and Robert Knight of Tennessee; 20 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Mon, Oct. 29, 2007, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Interment in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Rose will lie in state after 1:00 PM, Sunday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Care Cancer Center, 1401 West 12th Ave., Emporia, KS 66801.
