Ann Navarre

July 26, 1936 — March 24, 2021

Ann Louise (Magnuson) Navarre of Topeka, Kansas, and known simply as "Annie" to many friends and loved ones, was born to the union of William and Anne L. (Olsen) Magnuson, on July 26, 1936.  Ann lived her entire life in Topeka, and on May 20, 1967, was united in marriage to John E. Navarre.  Her beloved John preceded her in death December 25, 1984.

Ann graduated from Topeka High School in 1954.  In 1993, she retired after 40 years with the Kansas Department of Transportation as the secretary in the personnel department.  She was a member of Gage Park Baptist Church and served as the church's secretary for three years following her retirement.

In her spare time, Ann enjoyed bible study, making porcelain dolls and caring for her dogs, Holli and Dolli.  Most of all, she enjoyed serving the Lord and spending time with her family and friends.  Ann was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack and Jerry Magnuson; her sister, Elizabeth Magnuson; and by her beloved nieces, Melanie Hetherington and Laurie Dill.

She is survived by her nephews, Scott (Lori) Magnuson and Michael (Jennifer) Smiley; niece, Nedra (Mike) Johnson; great nephews, Richard Hetherington and Scott Magnuson, Jr.; great nieces, Pamela (Brian) Snow, Denise (DJ) Ward and Marley Smiley; great-great nephews Dezmond Hetherington and Jack Snow; and great-great nieces, Scout Ward and Reagan Snow.

Private family interment is planned. Memorial services are pending.
