Amy was born November 20, 1976 in Topeka, Kansas to Larry and Carol Schafer Samuelson. She passed away at her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado on September 6, 2005. She grew up in Topeka, attending North Fairview Elementary, Logan Junior High, and Seaman High School. She graduated from Seaman High School in 1995 where she was on the yearbook and newspaper staff, and was a member of the National Honorary Society. She attended Kansas University and had been attending Pikes Peak Community College where she was working towards an associate degree as a dental assistant.
She worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Topeka, and at MCI and Will's Sports Bar in Colorado Springs.
She is survived by her parents in Topeka, her son Kaden Ross, who was the love of her life and her sister Emily in Topeka. Other survivors include a brother Mike Samuelson in Carthage Missouri, sister Brook Samuelson of Topeka and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Homer and Lillie Samuelson of Olsburg, and maternal grandparents Truman and Imogene Schafer of Perry. She will be greatly missed by her two closest friends, Jolene Albright of Kansas City, and Tenley Wallace of Colorado Springs.
She was cremated, and memorial services were held in Colorado Springs on Sept 11. Memorial services will be 10:00am Saturday September 17th in Topeka at the Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel. The family will visit with friends before and after the service.
