Alva Busey

Alva Busey, 72, of Topeka passed away on September 17, 2020 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.   Alva was born March 13, 1948 in Hoyt, Kansas the son of Otis Busey and Grace Bixby.   He was an over-the-road truck driver for several years.   He was a member of the Citizen Band of Pottawatomi Nation in Oklahoma. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and racing of all kinds.  Alva had been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He was married to Cheryl VanRiper on September 18, 1965 in Big Springs, Kansas.   She survives.  Other survivors include his daughters, Shelly (Rob) Pfeffer and Terri (Bob) Wells, both of Topeka; sons, Patrick (Kelly) Busey of Harveyville and Craig (Kim) Busey of Topeka; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother and five sisters.

Graveside services will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery on Friday, September 25 th beginning at 11:00 a.m. He will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home on Thursday, September 24th from 11:00-5:00 p.m.   davidsonfuneral.com
