Alta June Davis, 98, of Topeka, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Topeka. She was born June 14, 1906, in Stafford, to Lyman A. and Ellen M. Wilson Williams. She spent most of her life in Topeka. Mrs. Davis worked for Stauffer Publications and she and her husband Ed owned Davis's Grocery Store in North Topeka. She belonged to Faith Family Life Centre Church. She married Harry Edgar "Ed" Davis, on Sept. 19, 1934, in Lawrence. He died Sept. 7, 1986. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Penwell Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Davis will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
