Alta Jane Beaty

February 17, 1936 — December 4, 2021

Alta Jane (Talmadge) Beaty, age 85, of Wellsvile, KS passed away December 4, 2021 at the Olathe Hospice House.  She was born February 17, 1936 at Stanberry, MO the daughter of  Gordon and Velma (Redmond) Talmadge.  She graduated from Stanberry High School in Stanberry, Missouri.  She married William Beaty May 2, 1954.

Alta (Talmadge) Beaty lived a life dedicated to service of others as a Christ-follower. Everyone around her knew of her passion to share the gospel of salvation.  She called her husband, “my Bill”; a love story of 67 years, an example unmatched and demonstrated with affection until the last day.

Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren experienced her genuine love, urgency to tell the gospel story, and enjoyed her dry humor, even through her last days.  Her family extended to anyone she saw in need, including several foster children.

Communities throughout her life saw her leadership to serve in church and community organizations; Sunday School teacher, home Bible Studies, PTA, mission groups, bowling team, an advocate for those who needed someone, and much more. She supported her husband Bill as owners of local businesses (grocery stores and restaurants). Their combined love of people found them genuinely concerned for each person walking through the door.

Alta was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Stockton and a son-in-law, Jim Tracy.  She is survived by her husband, William Beaty of over 67 years; daughters, Deborah (Paul) Elder, Becky Tracy, Dina (Jay) Mason; a son, W. Chris (Brenda) Beaty; a brother, Gordon Dwayne Talmadge; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Paola Cross Point Church, 1016 N. Pearl Street, Paola, KS 66071.  Visitation will be 30 minutes before services, also at the church.
