Almena May Reser, 74, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2006 surrounded by family and friends. She was born on June 6, 1931 at Atchison, the daughter of Harry and Effie Gile Paige. At a young age her family moved to Topeka, where she grew up and attended schools in East Topeka. Almena married Randall F. Reser on March 18, 1950 in Topeka. He survives. During her life, Almena was a homemaker, waitress, and worked until retirement at General Printing and Paper Company in Topeka. She enjoyed camping and fishing, talking on her C.B. radio with the handle "Lady Wood Butcher", gardening, and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Randall; son Larry Mumert, Mayetta, daughter, Ruth Ann Puff, Topeka, son, Randy Reser, Holton, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Sam Paige, South Carolina, and sister, Grace Pennington, Louisiana, and an aunt, Margaret Hutchinson, Topeka. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lorie Reaser.
Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel Thursday, January 26, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Private inurnment will take place Friday at Rossville Cemetery.
