Aline M. Buswell

Aline M. Buswell, 90, of Topeka, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor.

She was born November 27, 1923 in Miltonvale, KS, the daughter of Fremond Louis and Alice Avis (Brockway) Sorell. She was a 1942 graduate of Haddam Rural High School, Haddam, KS.

Mrs. Buswell was employed by the State of Kansas for 19 years, retiring in 1978.

Aline married Lowell E. Buswell on December 27, 1941 in Haddam, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1982. Survivors include three children, Larry D. (Margaret) Buswell, Oakland, NE, Ronnie G. Buswell, Cozad, NE and Sharon K. (Lyle) Schiefelbein, Topeka; 11 grandchildren, James Buswell, Sandra Pearson, Troy Buswell, Travis Buswell, Lyle "John" Schiefelbein, Jr., Matthew Schiefelbein, Kristin Webb, Sara Schiefelbein, Wendy Smith, Jamie Buswell and Tracy Buswell; several great-grandchildren, Camden Pearson, Makenna Pearson, Miles Pearson, Mason Pearson, Ryan Buswell, Taylor Schiefelbein, Jackson Schiefelbein, Danielle Schiefelbein, Brandon Schiefelbein, Alec Schiefelbein, Noah Schiefelbein, Mika Schiefelbein, Darrien Landis, Eric Webb; four siblings, Lenora Sears, Anchorage, AK, Doris Knight, Land O'Lakes, FL, Louis Sorell, Sacramento, CA and Rita (Ken) Gantenbein, Hope, KS; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Sorell, Fairbury, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jimmy R. Buswell, five brothers, Dean, Loris, Lyle, John and Max Sorell and two sisters, Emma M. Mills and Ann McCormick.

A funeral ceremony will be 10 a.m., Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. Interment will follow at the Rochester Cemetery, Topeka. Aline will lie in state after 3 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund at Topeka Presbyterian Manor, 4712 SW 6th Street, Topeka, KS 66606.
