OBITUARY: Alice May Smith Kinder
Alice May Smith Kinder, 84, Topeka, died Sun., Feb. 17, 2013, at her home. She was born Nov. 23, 1928, in Topeka, the daughter of Owen I. and Dorris M. (Johnson) Beeghly. Alice was a member of the Am. Legion Auxiliary and a long-time grandparent at Capper's. She was married to Virgil B. Smith on Dec. 27, 1947, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1972. She was married to Clarence Kinder on Nov. 18, 1989, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her three children: Judith Lynn Smith, Virgil Bert "Rocky" Smith, and Eric "Ricky" Smith. Surviving are two daughters-in-law: Merlene Gentry Smith of Topeka and Terry L. Smith of Lawrence; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Interment of cremains is pending at Topeka Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Capper's, 3500 SW Tenth, Topeka, KS 66604.
