Alice Hurst, 85, Topeka, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018.
She was born January 7, 1933, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Elwin and Mattie (McNorton) Niccum. She graduated from Seaman High School.
Alice was employed by the Seaman School District for 31 years, retiring in 2004 as the library aide at Logan Jr. High.
Mrs. Hurst was a current member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and past member of Seaman Congregational United Church of Christ.
Alice married Clifford D. Hurst on June 20, 1952 in Topeka, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Sherrall Sheldon (Craig), Topeka; Diane Adkins (Mark), Mesquite, TX and Gayle Smith (Brian), Topeka; one brother, James Niccum, Topeka; six grandchildren: Christin Sheldon (Adam Irvin), Topeka; Aaron Brown, Rainah Adkins, both of Mesquite, TX; Jesslyn Gibbons, GA; Brady Smith, Merriam, KS and Megan Smith, Topeka and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Paslay.
Alice enjoyed sewing for Seaman High School Show Choirs and cooking and baking cakes with her sister, Nancy.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions. Private inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
