Alice Belle Hough Cutright
Alice Belle Hough Cutright, 96, passed into heaven October 31, 2015. She was the daughter of Nellie Whearty Hough and Bertie Hough. Alice was born August 10, 1919, at Fostoria, KS. She graduated from Fostoria HS where she participated in many activities including sports. She and Harold enjoyed traveling and they were avid sports fans. They enjoyed game five of Royals World Series Win. She was known by many for her sparkling blue eyes.
Alice married Harold E. Cutright of Wamego, KS, May 17, 1940. They had three children: Harold "Dean" Cutright (Judy), Sheryl M. Hobbs (Farrel) of Colorado and Patricia K. Gragg of Topeka.
Alice and Harold farmed in the Wamego/Westmoreland area until they moved to Topeka in 1951. Alice held various jobs and she retired from the VA Hospital. After her retirement she enjoyed gardening with Harold, reading, watching sports and spending time with family.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1991; her son, Dean, and two great-grandsons. Also by five sisters: Grace Moss, May Armentrout, Lois Stauffer, Evelyn Repp, Edna Howell; and brother, Howard Hough.
She is survived by two daughters: Sheryl and Pat. Seven grandchildren: Kathy Spurlock (Fate), Topeka; Jim Cutright; Kahn Hobbs (Dana), South Carolina: Vicki Bilderback (Randy), Topeka; Pam Brown, Colorado; Troy Cutright (Lanette), Topeka and Christopher Gragg (Audra) Hoyt, KS.
She had 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, KS, with Chaplain Ray Berry officiating. Interment will be at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW Sixth Avenue.
Alice will lie in state from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral chapel.
