Alexander "Sluggo" P. Espinoza

Alexander “Sluggo” P. Espinoza Sr., age 68, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. Sluggo was born February 9, 1950 in Topeka the son of Albert and Rita Hernandez Espinoza. Sluggo grew up in Topeka, graduating from Topeka High School. He was married Debbie Bass for over 38 years. He worked for the City of Topeka in the forestry department for over 42 years. Sluggo played in several country and western bands throughout Topeka all his life. He was a member of the Guadalupe Catholic Church in Topeka and was an avid Chief and Jayhawk fan. He was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent “Champ” Espinoza. He is survived by a son, Alex Espinoza Jr. of Topeka; four brothers, Gerald (Angie), Charles (Tammy), John and Albert Espinoza all of Topeka; three sisters, Mary (Phil) Rose of Topeka, Emma Espinoza of St. Louis, MO and Paula (Danny) Ray of Topeka and his dog Chica.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. He will lie in state Monday from noon – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
