Safe in the arms of Jesus, Albert Earl Root passed from his earthly bonds on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. He was born November 8, 1928, the youngest child of Theodore L. and Agnes E. (Dressel) Root. He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1946. He married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Alice Frey on January 9, 1948. They celebrated 70 years of a loving and caring marriage together in their own home. He was a farmer and loved the land and nature. He followed the local high school and college teams right to the end and enjoyed watching and hearing about his grand and great-grandchildren's sporting activities. Albert was an active member of Bethel Community Church.
He is survived by his wife and their three daughters, Sandi (Robby) Corbin; Sherry Hertlein and Lesa Frantz. His beloved grandchildren, Allison (Brandon) Nelson, Robyn (Brian) Devlin, Collin (Sara) Corbin, Kristen Hertlein, Kerri (Nate) Czarnecki, Kyle (Katherine) Hertlein, Summer Frantz and Ariana Frantz, his adored great-grandchildren, Aspen, Gate, Chloe, Sierra, Ashlyn, Savannah, Corbin, Hayden Albert, Caleb, Kylee, Rowan and one on the way; his sister, Hazel Eslinger; sister-in-law, Doris (Neal) Prochaska and countless friends and relatives.
His parents, brother, Eugene, sister, Eunice and infant grandson, John preceded him in death.
Albert was known for his kindness and complete lack of pretense. He was a hero to his entire family and they miss him already and will forever.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Bethel Community Church. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery. Albert will lie in state from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. Friday at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions.
