OBITUARY: Albert Evans Meade
Albert Evans Meade, 75, Topeka died Sun., Feb. 5, 2006, at his home. He was born Dec. 26, 1930, at Hartly, KY the son of Turner Evans and Rhoda (Johnson) Meade.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and had received the Purple Heart. He was employed at Skelgas and Emerson Construction. Albert was a member of Heritage Park Wesleyan Church, Moose Lodge # 555, and Goodyear Post # 2187, V.F.W.
Albert was married to Elsie Pauline Emerson on June 14, 1962. She preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 2005.
Surviving are 4 daughters: Janet Newell, Joan Bahner, Brenda Wallace, and Joyce Ayers; 3 sons: William Meade, Albert Meade, and Robert Meade; 21 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wed., Feb. 8, 2006, at Heritage Park Wesleyan Church, 2121 SW Harrison. Interment will be in Half-Day Cemetery, Elmont.
Albert will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
