Albert D. Fiebig, age 85, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. Albert was born December 10, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of John and Laura Branski Fiebig. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Alaska. He married Helen Broadbent May 6, 1956 in Topeka. Albert worked as a mechanic all his life, and with Century Lumber Company and later owned and operated Al’s Mechanic Shop. Albert attended the Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church. He was active with the Joyful Harvest food drive. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and canning. He is survived by his wife, Helen of over 62 years; a daughter, Debbie (Ken) Dotson of Olatha; three sons, Doug (Kay) Fiebig of Topeka, Kerry (Renea) Fiebig of Newtown, Missouri and Kip Fiebig of Topeka; a brother, Robert Fiebig of Acron, Mississippi; a sister, Delores Prettyman of Topeka; 15 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. He will lie in state Wednesday from noon – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Rochester Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com.
