Adilene G. Tippit, 92, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011.
She was born December 18, 1918 in Bentonville, AR, the daughter of Steven and Ada (Clemmons) Easley. She was a graduate of Bentonville High School.
Adilene married Larmer Tippit. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1984. Survivors include her children, Shirley "Jean" Bryant, Corpus Christi, TX, Carol "Joy" Gentry, Pasadena, TX, Susan (Jerry) Hendrix, Topeka, Della (Daniel) Martinez, Buffalo, NY, Debby Moore, Topeka, Arthur (Linda) Tippit, Atlanta, GA, and Jerry Tippit, Topeka; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Joan Cox, a son, Robert Tippit, a granddaughter, Tami Tippit and a son-in-law, David Bryant.
In addition to being a mother of nine children, she was a loving grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and the outdoors.
A memorial ceremony will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice of Kansas, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606 or to American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Rd, Topeka, KS 66604.
