Adam A. Nocktonick, Jr, 81, of Mayetta, Kansas, passed away on August 20, 2024. He was born in Holton, the son of Adam A. Nocktonick, Sr. and Margie Wyatt Nocktonick. Adam attended school at Elmont and graduated from Seaman High School. He was a drywall installer/finisher by trade. He also worked a second job at Goodyear briefly before deciding to go it alone and work for himself. His biggest dream was to own lots of land and build a home on it. It all started with 40 acres and grew to around 800 acres. He enjoyed farming for many years, building furniture for family, and working on the land he named the Broken Treaty Ranch. Many years ago, he ran a charter fishing boat during the summer months out of Skagway, Alaska. Both before and after retirement, he enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips. This summer, he spent two weeks on Lake Erie with family catching Walleye. The best way to spend a day in his words was trolling for walleye, listening to old country music on the radio and drinking Mountain Dew.
He was married to his loving wife RuthAnn Hillrichs on September 20, 1964, in Topeka. She preceded him in death on June 14, 2021.
Survivors include his daughter, Stacey Nocktonick-Hess (Eric) and son, Kevin Nocktonick (Patricia) both of Mayetta; sister, Faye Womack of Topeka and grandchildren, Josh, Cody (Claire), Sheldon (Amanda), Savana and Carsyn; and three great grandchildren, Magnolia, Nicholas and Oakland.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his infant son Michael Nocktonick, grandson Kendall, and a brother Ronald Nocktonick.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Parker-Price and Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The service will be livestreamed at the time designated above. To view the live stream
