Ada Mae Seifert, 89, of Topeka passed away on Saturday, February 9th, 2019.

She was born March 10th, 1929 in Woodward Oklahoma. Ada was the daughter of William Ernest and Edith Grace Cavin Oehlert of Salina, KS.

Ada graduated from Washington High School in Salina, in 1947. She attended Phillips University in Enid Oklahoma, and later in life completed her CPA in accounting at Washburn University in Topeka.

Ada grew up and lived in Salina, Ks from 1937 to 1965, when she moved with her husband (John Wooster) and four daughters to Topeka, KS. Ada and John were married for 27 years when they divorced.

Ada met Dennis Seifert of Marion, KS at a function at the First Baptist Church in Topeka, where they were members. They married in 1978.

Ada worked for JC Penney at White Lakes Mall, Knoll Welding Supply, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and retired from Shawnee Community Mental Health, where she was the finance manager for more than 15 years.

Ada and Dennis moved to Bella Vista Arkansas in 1991 to enjoy their retirement. She was an avid golfer, bowler, enjoyed playing cards with friends, and singing in the church choir. She and Dennis also had several flea market booths in Arkansas that kept them busy, along with traveling the United States with her brother Bill and his wife LaVerda.

Ada had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. If you didn’t have an opinion on something, she was always glad to give you hers.

She and Dennis were charter members of the only American Baptist Church in the State of Arkansas, Forest Hills Baptist Church, where Ada was also the church secretary.

Dennis and Ada moved back to Topeka, Ks in 2012. They are members of the Eastside Baptist church in Topeka.

Survivors include her husband Dennis J. Seifert; daughters Cynthia “Suzie” Johnson (Rick) of Kansas City, KS. Linda Hardesty, Jane Warkentine, and Lorrie Dickey (Mike), of Topeka; step-sons Barry Seifert (Joy) Minot, North Dakota, Bradley Seifert (Tammy) Junction City, KS; step-daughters Teresa (John) Loney, Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Lisa Seifert, Kansas City, KS, Janice Seifert and Melinda Seifert, McPherson; KS, 12 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.

Ada bequeathed her body to the University of Kansas Medical School. A memorial service will be held at Eastside Baptist Church, SE 29 th and Pauline Road at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 28 th . The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am prior to the memorial service.  Memorial contributions may be made to NE Kansas Alzheimer's Association, Great Lakes Caring Hospice or to Eastside Baptist Church all in care of the funeral home.
