OBITUARY: Alice "June" Stanley
Alice "June" Stanley, 79, Topeka, died Fri. morning, March 2, 2007, at Select Specialty Hosp. She was born Aug. 13, 1927, at Topeka the daughter of Ernest and Evelyn I. (French) Chaffee.
June was the lounge manager at Philip Billard Post # 1650, VFW. She was a member of the auxiliaries to Philip Billard Post # 1650, VFW, and Topeka North Post # 400 of the American Legion; and a member of Women of the Moose.
Surviving are 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Robert G. and Frankie Stanley and Tom D. and Gwen Stanley all of Topeka; a sister: Elizabeth Brabent of California; 5 grandchildren (Bobby, Melody, Chris, Jeff and Brian); and 8 great-grandchildren.
Committal services will be at 1:00 PM, Tues., March 6, 2007, at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. June will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Mon., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.
