Nellie Ruth Hallmark, age 81, of Topeka passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at St Francis Hospital in Topeka. Ruth was born July 31, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi the daughter of George and Anna Anderson Brown. She married Hoyt Hallmark February 25, 1953. He preceded her in death June 15, 2006. Ruth worked as a dietician for USD #501 in Topeka. Ruth was preceded in death by a son, Larry Hallmark January 2, 2001 and a son in law, Tim Smith. She is survived by three daughters, Virginia Smith of Topeka, Judy (Everett) Mongold of Topeka and Teresa (Tim) Reuter of Meriden; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the services Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. She will lie in state Wednesday from noon – 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Rochester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Palace at the Topeka Rescue Mission and left in care of the Davidson Funeral Home
