Michael "Mike" Glen Buchmeier

Michael “Mike” G. Buchmeier, age 53, of Topeka, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at Stormont Vail Hospital. Mike was born January 25, 1964 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Marvin and Delores Ann Buchmeier. Mike worked in Topeka for various grain elevators for many years. He was a member and was baptized in the former St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod in Topeka. Mike was an avid Chiefs football fan.
Mike was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Ann (Leroy) Mekelburg of Yuma, CO; two sons, Tim Hisey of Topeka and Duff (Ashley) Buchmeier of Ozawkie; two daughters, Crystal (Decory Martinez) Buchmeier of Topeka, Nikki Buchmeier of Topeka; three brothers, Mark Buchmeier of Topeka, Myron Buchmeier of Topeka and Marty Buchmeier of Overbrook; a sister, Marilyn Blocker of Topeka; two step brothers, Leroy Mekelburg Jr. of Denver and Lynn Mekelburg of Eckley, CO; step sisters, Lorinda Kinlaw of Linden, N.C. and Lana Rogers of Otis, CO and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka. He will lie in state Wednesday from noon – 8:00 p.m. with a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Half Day Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
