Ross D. McCoy, 81, of Topeka passed away at his home on Sunday morning, January 29, 2017. He was born October 4, 1935 at Valley Falls the son of Alvin and Ruth Wilson McCoy. Ross lived most of his life in Topeka, working for the Santa Fe Railroad for 19 years and later as service manager at Gregg Tire before retiring. Ross liked to fish and was always fixing things around the house.
He was married to Julia Martin in 1975. She preceded him in death on June 7, 2005.
Survivors include his son, Donald McCoy and wife Kelly of Bonner Springs, Kansas; step-son, Larry Asher of Topeka, and daughter Jackie Allen of Sedalia, MO; brothers, Ralph McCoy and wife Shirley and Gary McCoy; seven grandchildren, Ross, Cody, Toni, Bronson, Angel, Dusty and Summer; great-grandchildren, Josh Hernandez, Jayden Hernandez, Khloe Marie Hernandez, Haylie Ann Asher, Harden Lewis McCoy, Emery Grace McCoy and Aston Lewis McCoy; great-great grandchildren, AJ Thompson and Genevi Hernandez, and a niece, Lisa Dale.
A memorial service will be held at Davidson Funeral Home on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice in care of the funeral home
