Leslie Ann Sweatt

Leslie Ann Sweatt 45, of Topeka passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Midland Hospice, in Topeka.

She was born November 21, 1971 at Forbes AFB, Topeka, Kansas, to David and Lois Killam Sweatt. She was a military brat from 1971 to 1986 living in Kansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Germany and traveled to a lot of places while in Europe.

She attended Washburn Rural High School where she ran track and later received her GED from the State of Kansas. Leslie married John D. Garrett on April 16, 1994. They were divorced. Although Leslie worked in various jobs, the one she talked about most was the Para-educator job at Washburn Rural Middle School where she made lots of friend among the kids she was involved with.

Leslie loved to fish and play pool and her two dogs Loki and Suria, but most of all, her three children.

Leslie is survived by her parents David and Lois Sweatt, significant other Robert Knorr, daughter Shianne RACHELLE Garrett, two sons, Joshua CASHTON Garrett and Rylen JAMES Garrett of Topeka, brother Bobby Sweatt of Topeka and sister Donna Cuevas (Dave) of Auburn, Kansas. The middle name of each of her children is in capital letters to indicate the name she preferred to call them.

A memorial service will be Friday, January 27, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Davidson Funeral Home, Topeka, Kansas. The family will greet friends at the Funeral Home 30 minutes prior and 30 minutes after the memorial service.

Leslie will be cremated and her ashes will be scattered at Holden Beach, North Carolina at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made out to Rylen (RJ) Garrett for an Education Fund to be established in his name and sent in c/o Davidson Funeral Home, Topeka, Kansas. A special thanks to the staff at Midland Hospice House for the wonderful care that was provided.
