Arlene M. Widner

Arlene M. Widner, 80, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016. She was born November 28, 1936 at Maple Hill, Kansas the daughter of Charles and Jeanette Sweeney Gooden. Arlene lived most of her life in the Topeka area except for two periods of time she spent in Arizona that lasted five and ten years each.
Survivors include her children, Jacqueline Widner of Topeka; Joyce Ferris (Robert) of Carbondale, and Leslie Parrish (Stacy) and his wife of Topeka. Two children, Tracy Abelli and Neil Long precede her in death. Arlene has 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who also survive her.
Arlene was preceded in death by eight siblings and their spouses, Wanda Graybeal (Dean), Orville Gooden (Rose), Eldon Gooden (Nancy), Virginia Lett (Omer), Charles E. Gooden, Lois Schultes (Milo), Ricahrd Gooden (Shirley), William Gooden.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Davidson Funeral Home. Rev. Raymond Jefferson, Jr. officiating. When you come to Arlene’s funeral please wear your favorite KU fan gear. Memorial contributions may be made to a go fund me account for Arlene at
