Mary L. Doty

Mary L. Doty, age 77, of Topeka passed away peacefully Christmas morning 2016, surrounded by family. Mary was born August 13, 1939 in Manhattan, KS the daughter of Jack and Martha Cox, later adopted by Jesse Figgins. Mary married the love of her life, James Doty, June 17, 1961. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2016. Mary had a passion for baking and was famous for her homemade cinnamon rolls and delicious cakes, cookies, and pies. She had a fondness for all things pigs. She loved her family more than anything and was always there for them.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Teena (Robert) Reavis of Burlington, KS and Tamra Doty of Sacramento, CA; her beloved cat, Cyclone; two granddaughters, Jamey and Mary Beth Doty; several step grandchildren; three great grandchildren: Caden, Cora, and Enoch; and several step great grandchildren; siblings: Harold Patterson, Odette Hugues, Roxy Thomas, Nancy Higgins, Gene Proctor, Larry and Don Figgins; she was preceded in death by sisters Patricia Thomas and Jean Armstrong.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home. She will lie in state Sunday, January 1, 2017 from 1:00-5:00 pm with visitation from 2:00-4:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home. Interment services will be at 3:30 pm at Havensville Cemetery.
