Orval Lee Kline Sr., age 86, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka. Orval was born December 12, 1929 in Elmont, Kansas, the son of Norman Kline and Bessie Rogers Kline. Orval graduated from Topeka High School in 1949. He served in the United States Army. Orval worked for KP&L for many many years.
Orval is survived by his five sons, H.D. Dodds, George Moore, Norman Kline, Melvin Kline, Orval Kline Jr., and Raymond Kline, all of Topeka; A brother William Kline of Colorado; and three sisters, Norma Adams of Holton, Anna Cunningham of Nebraska, and Ethel Fern Armfield of California; thirteen grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Orval was preceded in death by sons, George Eye and Richard Lee Kline both of Topeka; and daughters Mary Lou Schmitter and Patricia Hunderfund both of Topeka.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. He will lie in state Tuesday, December 6 from noon – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.
