Barbara Jean Brandenburg

Barbara J. Brandenburg, age 81, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Plaza West Care Center. Barbara was born January 31, 1935 in Topeka the daughter of Charles and Julia Paxton Brandenburg. She graduated from Topeka Hayden High School. She worked for FHA, Federal Housing Authority in Topeka. She attended Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church. She was active with the Garfield Gazette, where she volunteered as treasurer and advertising. She also was active with NOTOMA and NIA. She is survived by a sister, Edith Herring of Topeka and several nieces and nephews, including Jenny Brandenburg.
Graveside services will be Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rochester Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Davidson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
