Karen M. Snyder

Karen M. Snyder, age 78 of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Midland Hospice. Karen was born April 25, 1938 in Beaver County, OK the daughter of Carl and Geneva Beck Whittaker. Karen worked in several nursing homes throughout Topeka. She married Jay Snyder in 1970. She was a member of the Oakland Christian Church. She played the organ, piano and sang in several church’s. Karen enjoyed sewing and crafts and making holiday cards. She was preceded in death by a son, Lyle Beaty in 1995.
Survivors include her husband Jay; a son, Thomas Beaty of Topeka; three brothers, Don, Byron and Phil Whittaker; a sister, Carla Potter and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Topeka Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Shelter and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com.
