Robert James Courville

Robert “Bob” Courville, age 70 of Topeka passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in Topeka. Bob was born November 27, 1945 in Eunice, Louisiana the son of Urisin and Ludia Bertrand Courville. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was stationed in the Azor Islands. He married Ruth Bowers August 19, 1966 in Topeka. Bob enjoyed playing in the men’s club at Berkshire Golf Club. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing along with watching the Saints and LSU football.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth of over 50 years; four sons, Leonard of Topeka, James (Dallas) of Roundrock, Texas, Robert (Debra) of Topeka and Richard (Victoria) of Shreveport, Louisiana; two brothers, Clarence and Rick (Jerre) of Louisiana; a sister, Evelynn Lowry of Louisiana; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Rochester Cemetery. He will lie in state Tuesday from noon – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.
