Jeannette Ann Flott, 78, of Topeka passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016. She was born June 10, 1938 at Deweese, NE the daughter of Melvin and Mildred Wood Reed. She was raised in Topeka and attended State Street, Holliday and Topeka High Schools. She worked for Dr. Michael Hassur and Dr. Stacey Fitch before retiring. Jeannette was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church. She loved sports, baseball was a favorite. She was the first woman baseball coach at Billard Park. She also taught her grandchildren the game. Her favorite professional teams were the Royals and the Carolina Panthers. Jeannette was a huge KU Jayhawk fan.
She was married to Robert Flott on February 1, 1954 in Lyndon. Robert passed away on July 5, 2003. Two grandchildren, Danny passed away in 2011 and Kelsey in 1995
Survivors include her children, Roger Flott and his wife Kendy of Topeka, Jeannene England of Topeka, Rodney Flott of Topeka and Todd Flott of Charlotte, NC; brother, Ron Reed and wife Julene of Memphis TN; grandchildren, Kandi, Brandi, Troy, Krista, Trever, Tana, John, and Charlie; and her great-grandchildren, Conner, Parker, “Sly”, Kody, Madisyn, Cooper, Taigan, Axton and Malachi.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Flott will lie in state from 12-8 on Monday where the family will receive friends from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jeannette Flott Memorial Fund at Kaw Valley Bank.
