Vera Ilene Arnold

Vera Ilene Arnold, age 86, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at a care home in Overland Park, Kansas. Vera was born October 11, 1929 in Munden, Kansas the daughter of David and Blanche Canning Pointer. She graduated from Hubbell High School in Nebraska. She married Kent L. Arnold November 23, 1956 in Hubbell, Nebraska. He preceded her in death after 54 years of marriage on December 4, 2010. Vera worked as a paraprofessional for Topeka 501 School district.
She was a longtime member of the Crestview United Methodist Church in Topeka. She was a member of the X-Belles Club. She enjoyed traveling, flowers, her grandchildren and was an avid K.U. Basketball fan. She is survived by her son, Craig (Karin) Arnold of Topeka; two daughters, Glee (Ernest) Hale of Kansas City, Kansas and Joni (Andy) O’Neill of Raymore, MO; four grandchildren, Kyle (Abby) and Jay O’Neill; Colby and Keaton Arnold and one great granddaughter, Ainsley Elizabeth O’Neill.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crestview United Methodist Church in Topeka. Interment will be at the Penwell Gable Memorial Park Cemetery.
